A Little Nutty Info.

As most of you know, we're now navigating this world with a severe nut allergy in tow. I say severe because Ian's RAST level is high & he's proven to be highly sensitive - his reactions have been scary (involving swelling & breathing difficulty) & it's really odd to have to practice an Epipen with a 3 year old. However, Ian is such a special, smart kiddo - he's already so mature about this - including accepting his limitations. Right now we don't know anyone locally with a nut allergy so it probably feels to him like he's the only one on earth who can't eat whatever he sees. For those of you who want to learn more about his allergy - I'm starting a list of links to the right. I'll add to them periodically as I find helpful resources. Feel free to let me know if you find some too! Thank you for learning along with us - especially all our loved ones who interact with Ian frequently!

Welcome Papa Frank & G'ma Sally!

We had a great weekend... doing almost nothing but relaxing! Ian was so excited to show them our new basement & loved getting to play & share meals together!
Audrey is our shy girl who has proven to be quite slow to warm. Not many smile-opps with her... oh well. She did, however, enjoy a little cuddle time with Papa one quiet morning.
Thank you for visiting us in our frozen tundra all the way from sunny FL!
We love & miss you both.

Grandpa Jim turns the big 6-5!

Ian is always up for a party & we had so much fun helping G'pa Jim celebrate!
Once again... another excuse for me to get silly with cake. Ian was unhappy that this "little grandpa" I made didn't have eyes & a nose. Hey! I thought I captured his golf stance & concentration... not to mention the accurate "aim" he's taking at putting into that hole :)

Ian picked out an airplane making kit... for grandpa of course

Cheers to retirement & many, many more birthday celebrations!

Love

Reflecting on our recent Valentine's Day I have to highlight the love between our two little cuties. I have to emphasize I DID NOT make them pose for these pics. Ian just loves to cuddle his sister - and she loves to cuddle right back - I simply grabbed the camera. They were looking out the window watching our constant snowfall today.
We always say Ian is a child who would have loved being born into a family of 10 kids. He's always thrived on being around other kids. He adores his little sister & he's always been an amazing big brother. Sure, they've had their moments but truly they get along & play well. Audrey gets into whatever Ian is doing - regularly - and his frustration usually doesn't go beyond a simple, "Audrey!!" usually followed by giggling.

Our Lego Man

I had to get a couple Lego pics on our blog. As you've heard before, Ian just loves them. I think this has been his favorite toy for a long time... which I'm sure you can tell by the look on his face!
