Ian's 1st Haircut

Yes, he is already 3 and hasn't needed a professional haircut until now.
He loves going to the Dr. so it shouldn't have surprised me to watch him sit still and enjoy the haircut. They had an awesome "train chair" and a movie!

S'more Please!

Ian had his first taste of s'mores today!
(sadly out of the microwave & not a bonfire - but he didn't seem to mind)

messy kids are just too cute
After the whole "sugar fest" at home we headed up to Door County for a beautiful drive and some fun stops along the way. Ian now refers to this place as the "silo park" because it's a farm/playground/orchard/vineyard/store.
Here's Audrey gazing at her brother - they adore each other...
Okay... as if recovering from a bladder infection wasn't bad enough, we put Audrey in this silly outfit & made her pose for pictures...

Day at the Beach

We were thrilled to get a perfect, hot summer Saturday to enjoy a day at Whitefish Dunes beach. The whole event reminded me of John Candy's movie, "Summer Rental" (anyone?)... it was packed so you literally sat blanket to blanket... after hauling a wagon down the boardwalk with enough gear to pack an SUV.
Ian was beyond excited and Audrey had it "made in the shade"
Not the most lady-like pose but isn't this a cute baby cabana? She loved it!
Did I mention she can sit totally unsupported now!?!
A family next to us commented on what a good baby she is. We hear that from strangers almost everywhere we go... we'll have to remind her of that in her teenage years...
Ian made sure to cover himself in sand head to toe - rinse off - and then do it all over again!

Happy Birthday Ian!

Ian
You are the most amazing little boy. We can't believe how the time has flown by so quickly... and all the wonderful ways you change this world by being a part of it. You continue to teach daddy & I to stop to notice all the little things. We never knew our hearts could love so deeply until the day we met you. You ARE "happiness"

Enjoy our little slideshow (walk down memory lane) below!
