Renneke-Zaruba-Palooza!

We Zaruba-Renneke's usually join forces for Easter & this year was no exception. We just had to do it a wee bit early! We got to join Hannah for her big 14th birthday! Wow, she's growing up so fast & we continue to be so proud of Hannah & Andrew. They are always so sweet with their "little cousins!"

We also got to dye Easter eggs which is always a big hit. This year Audrey got into it!
I love that the big kids & adults enjoy this as much as the little ones!

As luck would have it, the MN Children's Museum had a Lego exhibit AND it was family FREE day - perfect!

Someday it will be so neat to look at this photo of the 2 beautiful girl cousins.

Thank you for the great weekend packed full of laughter & fun!!!

NOTE: I decided to stop clogging up our blog with my cake photos. I started a cake blog (link on the right) so please check it out from time to time! I'm very pleased to be getting a steady stream of "business" to keep my creative energy flowing :)

Best Presents Ever!

Here they are!

The best birthday presents a girl could ever wish for :)

Ian was hard at work decorating my cake...

This is what it became (Ian drew "me" and Audrey drew that blob next to me)

Those are apparently "buttons" if you're wondering?!!? Audrey painted a tile and Ian painted a bunny and Daddy got me that beautiful bouquet!

It was FINALLY hot outside & it appears Audrey enjoyed!!!
Sidenote (she is potty-trained!!!)
Nana came to celebrate my birthday too - what a great weekend for playing outside with the grandkids :)

Phineas & Ferb and Tinkerbell

Bear with me... as usual this is mostly for my sisters :)
I've gotten a few cake "orders" for March/April and the blog is the easiest place to share pics.
Phineas & Ferb - White cake with vanilla buttercream
Bottom: rollercoaster from show
Middle: yard with fence & tree from show
Top: P & F not edible (but Agent P is)
Tinkerbell - Chocolate cake with choc. frosting
Top: house - I had so much fun making this & I think it's my favorite edible thing I've ever made! I went a little nuts on the bottom - oops

It has a pumpkin top door & mushroom cap roof - aww

Nana's Birthday

We recently visited my mom for a little birthday celebration. The kids helped me make a cake & everyone had fun relaxing & playing at her home. We've been getting glimpses of spring with warmer days, complete snow melts, birds chirping & blue skies. However, this particular day was cold & gray with freezing rain. I hear more snow & cold air in the forecast once again. We are ALL excited to enjoy playing outside in warm weather soon!
Here's Audrey playing with a new little mouse house from Nana

Dinosaur cake... and Dino-mite kiddo's

Here's the latest creation from my oven for a friend's little boy

We recently took the kids to the Children's Museum. Such a fun day but hard to snap many good action shots! Let's see... what's new with them? They're both just growing up & learning so much! Audrey can now identify lots of colors, count to 20 (with just a little help) and knows her ABC's. She is extremely chatty - long sentences & lots of ideas. Ian is learning his letters, loves practicing writing, drawing and especially building his amazing Lego creations. We're just so proud & blessed with our two little peas in a pod.
