Updated Master Bedroom

BEFORE
AFTER

I finally got around to updating our bedroom!
We're (yes WE - Brian loves it!) so happy with how it turned out. I made the headboard (pleather) and found the perfect silvery-gray/blue hues to offset fresh white bedding and our dark chocolate furniture. The window treatments are far more beautiful in person than in the pics ~ they are floor to ceiling silk panels with (homemade) damask valances that turned out fabulous. As you can tell, it was hard to accentuate the room's size in the photo because it's not the biggest space - but it feels more spacious & a tad more sophisticated (smile).

Big Changes in OUR house!

I never realized how stressed I was about these 2 things until we accomplished both in one weekend. I've been breathing easier ever since!
Audrey: Unlike her brother (who spent exactly 2 nights in our bedroom), Audrey's been sleeping in her pack-n-play 1 foot away from me for the past 4 mos. Due to initial reflux issues, she was also used to sleeping in an inclined seat ~ and sleeping straight through the night ~ which made making the switch to her crib on her back a frightening thought for us.
After just one bad night she's been sleeping excellent in her crib. She goes to bed by 8:30pm & sleeps through her original 5:30am feeding & snoozes until Ian wakes up around 7am. It's a little bittersweet... she used to demand mommy cuddle her to sleep & now she just crabs until we lay her down & she puts herself to sleep... but we're so proud of our sweet pea!!

Ian: When he first peed on the potty a year ago we thought potty-training was imminent. Wrong. My casual approach wasn't working even though he was showing signs of being "ready." A friend recommended "Toilet Training in Less than a Day" and to our surprise it worked. We were potty training in the morning & playing outside in underpants in the afternoon.
Each day brings new progress & independence for Ian ~ practice makes perfect & so far so good! He now wants to do almost everything by himself... such a big boy now!

A Beautiful Day for a Farm!

As you know by now, farms are one of Ian's favorite places to visit.
Here he is doing a maze
Audrey seemed equally thrilled to watch her big brother run around & spend some time with Nana & G'pa Neil...
Ian even got to "ride a horse" before we left!
G'pa Neil feeding a llama.
Ian's favorite animals that day were the goats with floppy ears that looked like dogs.
